Walt Gardner has real experience in teaching, and I’m inclined to listen and take what he says very seriously. There is a war brewing over education, but mostly it hasn’t hit the news and politicians because the battle lines aren’t drawn yet, at least, not along partisan lines.
Last summer I atttended a conference on education in Seattle with my lovely girlfriend, we listened as experts and Rev. Al Sharpton opined about education and what needs to be done. I was amazed that everyone said things that could be construed as liberal, and everyone also said things that sound conservative. Even Al Sharpton.
As the conversation moves forward on education reform, this author confesses a lack of opinions. But that’s because I want to get this one right, not because I don’t have thoughts on the matter. Let’s move forward on this, any thoughts?
